Kiss The Ground This Earth Day With Wines From Chile
Have you experienced Chilean wines?
When exploring an unfamiliar wine region, I always suggest finding producers that are consistent in quality and engage in low-intervention practices allowing the wines to showcase their sense of place. One region I’ve loved getting to know a bit more closely is Chile. Overall, Chile is known for producing wines at an incredible value while also showcasing exceptional bottles. Some of their top wines are those that you are probably familiar with, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Caménère,. Their wines are fruit-forward with herbaceous notes which can be comparable to some French wines, particularly Bordeaux. While this all sounds so lovely, where does one start to get a good foundation of Chilean wine? Meet Veramonte, the gateway to Chilean wines.
Veramonte wines have been delivering consistent quality for over 25 years. Throughout their estate, they follow organic practices and let the vine shine allowing it to live and flourish in balanced soil producing high quality grapes that are a true expression of the terroir.
As an added kiss of love, Veramonte is a proud partner with Kiss the Ground (@kissthegroud) a non-profit organization focused on sustaining healthy soils through regeneration and to create a “symbiotic relationship with the earth.” While Veramonte has been actively doing this in their vineyards for years they also help support the cause by donating through bottle sales to Kiss the Ground to promote Regenerative Agriculture.
With Earth Day coming up, what better way to explore a region in one hand and plant an herb garden in another. Both represent making a conscious effort to grow organic and be thoughtful towards the earth! Be sure to check out @veramontewines to add to the cause on wine.com!
