Playdate Wines - the “Virtual” Playdate

Playdate Wines - the “Virtual” Playdate

These days, the typical “playdate” landscape has changed. Virtual playdates have become the norm and we will start to see them pick back up when the weather turns in late fall/early winter. So, what does a “Virtual” playdate entail? I believe it depends on the age group but for me it entails either holding the phone or placing it down right in front of my 2.5 year old and forcing them to engage and if not, it’s a time for me and my bests on the other end to catch up. So if I’m being honest, it’s mainly an excuse to catch up with my girlfriends - wink wink. Since it’s the middle of summer, I haven’t scheduled many zoom/FT play dates lately with the kids but when I do, it’s usually later in the day before dinner chaos hits thus, wine is mandatory!  With that, I’m here to prepare you for the winter “storm” with a few wines to pair with your “Virtual Playdates”. Also, take note that I did not include any red wines just in case you have to run down your toddler and whisk them back to the phone!

As a reminder from the OG “Playdate Wines” post, the list below has been carefully curated based off of specific criteria (that I made up) consisting of: simplicity, quality + fun factor.

Playdate (noun): A date and time set by parents for children to play together.

Wine #1: Dear Mom Wines: Let’s chat and talk about quality in a can (all hail the #roguevalley) and I stand behind the brand’s identity in celebrating those who’ve created us and inspire us to dream and thrive! They do this by not only producing premium wine in a can but donating proceeds to organizations that benefit moms locally and globally. All the more reason to raise a can and cheers (specifically the Sparkletown) to your girlfriend mom on the other end while your kids are babbling away!

Wine #2: Wölffer Estate Rosé - If you’ve been following me on instagram you know that I’m loving Wölffer’s rosé (their Estate bottle + Summer in a Bottle) for an easy go-to and what we need for these virtual dates is just that. An easy sip that’s refreshing and gets you in the mood for a fun FaceTime!

Wine #3: Trattore Farms - Sparkling Blanc de Banc Cuvée: This wine just screams a casual girls night in. Pop this beauté of crispy citrus and alomondy goodness pre-call and get energized for a great catch up session with the kids and your bests!
