2020 Summer Rosés + Where to Buy!

2020 Summer Rosés + Where to Buy!

Being at the epicenter of COVID-19 in Manhattan it’s hard not to reminisce about the summers spent outside at restaurants sipping on bottles of rosé on ice with friends and family. Although we are not doing that anytime in the foreseeable future, I’m still going about my usual routine to get ready for summer sipping by trying a few different rosés and stocking up on the ones I like. I’ve taken some bottles out from the archives (aka our wine fridge) that have current releases and have the same potential if not higher for summer drinking whether you are inside or out (lucky you)!

A brief roundup below to add-on to my “5 Rad Rosés for Summer 2019” and where to buy so you can sip on yummy rosé this summer and support small businesses!

The Pinot Project 2018

Made up of Pinot Noir grapes from France, this wine screams “porch pounder” for summer. It’s pale pink hue reminiscent of Provence style rosés with refreshing white peach and succulent raspberry flavors is a sure crowd pleaser on a sweaty summer day. It finishes with a freshness and a surge of acidity. A super easy “go-to” wine that’s accessible!

Where to buy their latest offering - 2019:

Drizly @ $12.99 per bottle (currently on sale)

Le Grand Triage @ $15.00 per bottle (fast delivery and discounts when multiple bottles (of anything) are purchased)

Demetria 2017 Estate Rosé - Santa Ynez Valley

I had the pleasure of visiting this family owned, bio-dynamic/sustainably farmed vineyard two years ago and fell in love with its Burgundy style aesthetic and tasting experience.  Demetria produces Burgundy + Rhône style wines in Central Coast’s Santa Ynez Valley in California.  Their rosé is a refreshing burst of grapefruit and lemon with a hint of juicy nectarine softening the wine and rounding it out nicely.  It’s their flagship rosé that is not to be missed this summer. Not to mention, their bottle is a showstopper and simply gorgeous! For more awesome Santa Barbara wines + travel guide go HERE.

Where to buy their latest offering - 2018 Estate Rosé:

Demetria @ $30 per bottle

Côtes du Rhône Rosé, Vidal-Fleury 2019

My first foray into the infamous Côtes du Rhône rosés and it did not disappoint. Known for GSM, Grenache, Syrah + Mourvedre grapes, this rosé wine yields a more weighty, slightly medium-fuller bodied rosé than the delicate and lighter fan favorite Provence style rosés. Loving all the vibrant red berry flavors (cherry, strawberry + raspberry) coupled with a bouquet of florals adding to the elegant flavor. This producer is a great representation of the region featuring 50% Cinsault, 30% Syrah + 20% Grenache. Gorgeous wine for a great value.

Where to buy:

Le Grand Triage @ $22 per bottle

Trattore Farms 2019 Estate Michelle’s Rosé, Dry Creek Valley

Trattore Farms produces Rhône style wines in the heart of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, California. At first hesitant to produce a rosé, they took a risk and came out with a gorgeous Granache in 2011 which was an immediate success winning the New York International Rosé of the Year!  The 2019 is just as award winning and has bursts of energetic flavors of strawberry + melon with a vibrant acidity to finish. Worth the cost and stocking up on!

Where to buy:

Trattore Farms @ $35 per bottle
